1. How do I find the perfect voice for my project?

Finding a perfect voice with OutSpoken has never been easier. There are two ways to find the right voice for your project and both are completely free.

a) You can browse through our list of voices. We provide all the information you need about each voice, as well as voice demos, to give you a feel of the artist’s tone and capabilities.

If you like a particular voice (or voices) you can invite them to a private casting or hire them for a project directly from their profile.

To do this, click on Hire button and complete the form and payment. You'll be notified when the recording is ready for a download.

Once you're happy with the final product we'll release the funds and pay the artist for the recording.

b) Alternatively, you can post a casting and receive audition clips for the job. To do this, click on Post Free Casting and follow the simple steps. The form should be self-explanatory but if you have any questions please contact us.

Once you have submitted all the relevant information about your casting, the audition clips from our artists will start to come in. We will notify you by email when you receive a new submission. Just log in to your account to listen to clips and share them with clients and colleagues.

Once you’ve found the right voice, you can award the job to the artist and start working on your project! When you're happy with the final product we'll release the funds and pay the artist.

2. How do I register as a client?

Go to Sign In section on the right top of your screen and select ‘Sign Up as a Client.’ You'll be taken to a registration form which you need to complete. Rest assured, we treat all your information as strictly confidential and we don’t share anything with third parties without your consent.

3. How quickly can I get my recording?

It depends on our artist's availability and the size of the project. When posting a free casting you can also set the deadline for delivery.

4. How do I hire a translator for my project?

We’ve made hiring a translator incredibly simple. Start by emailing us your script along with your requirements and deadline. We’ll come back to you with a quote and, once approved, you can leave everything up to us. We’ll email you your translated script before you know it.

5. Do I have to pay for studio time?

All our artists have their own home studio. Therefore, all costs are included in the prices listed on our Pricing page.

6. Can I listen and direct the artist while they record for me?

Some artists have the facility for you to join them via Skype or a phone patch, so it's possible that the artist you chose can make those arrangements.

7. I’m a novice, can you help me cast a voice for my project?

That's exactly what we are here for! The easiest way to find a voice is to Post Free Casting. The process is very straightforward with easy to follow steps. Once you’ve got everything set up our clever system will send notifications to artists matching your criteria. Artists who are available and interested will send you a short casting demo and you choose who you want to work with.

8. What do I do if I can't find the price or a project type I need on your rate card?

We’ve been in the business for 30 years, so we know that it’s not possible to pin every project down. We have tried to cover as much as we can on our Pricing page but if you can't find the price or description of your project, send an email to voices@outspokenvoices.com. We’ll get back to you in no time.

9. Are there any extra or hidden fees I will have to pay?

There are no hidden fees. We strive to be as transparent and fair as possible, both to our clients and our artists. All the prices for various projects are listed on our Pricing page.

We do use PayPal and other external payment systems that allow you to pay the fees by credit or debit card. The payment system providers charge a transaction fee (either 3.6% or 5.4% [incl. 20% VAT]) which will be listed on the payment page. OutSpoken Ltd is registered for VAT and as we supply our services to you in the UK, we are required to charge VAT when applicable.

If you are a voice talent, the commission we deduct is stated in the contract you sign with us. That way you know exactly how much the project is worth and how much you'll be paid after agency deductions.

10. Can I get a refund?

We want you to be 100% satisfied with our service and the quality of our carefully selected voice artists. If for any reason we don't meet your expectations, we will do all we can to correct the situation. Refunds will be issued in the following circumstances:

  1. If the voice artist doesn't deliver the recording by the deadline stated at the beginning of the project.
  2. However, if the delay in delivery is caused out of the artist's reasonable control (e.g. a major power cut or recording system/equipment failure), no refund will be issued.

  3. If the delivered file is not of an acceptable quality.
  4. Both the client and Outspoken must agree that the recording is not of an acceptable quality. In this circumstance a re-recording is offered. If the quality is still questionable, a refund is issued. If only one party agrees that the recording doesn't meet a certain standard, only half of the requested refund amount is returned to the client. In both cases OutSpoken must receive a written statement that the recording will never be used prior to issuing any refund.

  5. If the client hasn’t provided the artist with specific directions and guidance prior to the recording, resulting in mispronunciation, only 50% of the refund will be applied.

Please note that NO refund will be issued once the client approves the recording and the funds have been paid out to the artist.

There is NO refund or cancellation available once the project commences and has been paid for.

OutSpoken will deduct 10% handling fee from any refund amount. However, if OutSpoken is entirely at fault, 100% of the requested refund amount will be returned to the client.

Please note that OutSpoken will not tolerate an abuse in refund and cancellation policy. Multiple refunds will lead to the client’s account being temporarily or permanently restricted (even suspended) depending on severity.

11. How do I register as a voice?

To register as an artist go to Sign In section at the top of the Home Page and choose the ‘Sign Up as a Voice Artist’ option. You can then complete the form and upload your voice demo. Once we’ve received your information we will review the application and get back to you with our final decision.

We do our best to reply within 48 hours but the process may take a little longer. If you don't hear from us within 5 working days, please drop us a line.

12. When can I expect to be paid for the job?

All jobs are paid for in advance by the client. However, we cannot release the funds until the client approves the recording. Once we receive a notification of the recording being accepted by the client, we can release the funds. We aim to process payments within 10 working days.

13. How do I take part in an open casting?

It's easy! Keep an eye on your Jobwall and read the details when a new job appears. If you are available and you think you fit the bill, record a voice sample and send it through by clicking Apply for casting button.

If the client chooses your voice we'll notify you that you've been hired for the job. From then on you can communicate with the client, discuss all the details and deliver the project.
