Voice profile

I'm Liz Drury and I'm 'easy on the ears.' I've worked as a voiceover artist since 2013. I'm originally from Northamptonshire in the UK, but I've lived in the North East, Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and even the USA so my sound is fairly neutral now. I've also spent quite a lot of time in The Netherlands and I've been praised for my Dutch pronunciation! I came to VoiceOver from television as I used to work at cable TV station as a presenter and I did some voice over as part of my job. Since then I have trained with coaches in both the USA (where I started my career) and the UK. As well as lots of general classes I have taken specific training in lip syncing and dubbing, and documentary narration. I have taken acting classes too, and passed Acting 111 and Acting 112 when I lived in the States. I am a member of a couple of community theatre companies locally, and the leader of the Barton on Humber Ghost Walk. I have a PhD in Archeological Science so I love anything with an historical flavour such as museum audio tours or audio guides around historic places. My research was actually very chemistry based so I'm not afraid of scientific language or pronouncing chemical names in medical or pharmaceutical scripts. My first degree was in physics so I am happy reading scripts with scientific or mathematical terms in them too. My son is in the military so I know something of the language of this sector as well! I work across a number of voice over genres including corporate narration, explainers, e-learning, commercials, voice of God announcements, audio tours and telephone systems. I am always happy for clients to connect with my for live direction. I have the paid version of Source Connect, but can also offer Cleanfeed, Zoom, and Skype. My voice can be described as confident and assured with a naturally soothing quantity. Perfect for genuine and believable reads. When I'm not in the booth you can find me out running with my dog Marble, or baking the world's best chocolate brownies.
